2. Presentation of the current situation regarding CEECLAM conference venue and presidential candidature for the next term
3. Presentation of the past activities of CEECLAM and proposed future tasks
4. Discussion
5. Presidential election
6. Changes within the CEECLAM Board - proposition
7. Closing remarks

The meeting was opened by Krzysztof Grzylinski - past- president of CEECLAM, who became the Chairman of the assembly. He welcomed all attendants of the meeting and submitted short meeting agenda.
Then she briefly described the current situation of the CEECLAM board, outlining main problems within the organisation.
Our Romanian colleagues did not fulfil the commitment to organise the scientific conference in Bucharest in 2008. They did not manage to create the enthusiasm in her environment that would enable her to attract people from the surrounding to the idea of organising CEECLAM conference in Romania. They have failed at the early stage of preparation of conference and did not meet the expectations of CEECLAM. At the beginning of this year the conference venue has been moved to Warsaw, transmitting the responsibility for all necessary preparations to PAIM members.

Mr Chairman underlined that despite gathering within CEECLAM representatives from numerous countries (Poland, Hungary, Croatia, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia) so far no active participation of member countries other than Poland, Croatia and Hungary has been noticed.
"We hoped that the interest in our association will be growing and would create good opportunity for integration of life insurance medical specialists from neighbouring countries" - He said. However the activities undertaken so far were rather limited.
The CEECLAM achievements for the last 7 years are organisation of 3 scientific conferences, with the marked international cooperation mainly on the basis of preparation of those conferences.
In 2005 during the 2nd CEECLAM in Dubrovnik we raised and discussed various issues. New participants were encouraged to join the society, become active and creative members and especially stimulated to follow the ideas of raising education standards in insurance medicine based on exchange of knowledge and expertise among CEE countries. Today only Slovenian representative (Dr Vrabl) could announce creation of the national society (Congratulations!). The Romanian society of insurance medicine established in 2005 did not undertake any marked activity.

Krzysztof Grzylinski discussed possibilities of further development of CEECLAM.
He stressed that the everyday routine forces us to revise the organisation goals and consider the real possible fields of activities.
It seems that the main idea of education through organisation of international conferences should remain as the primary goal. There is still some international interest in participation in such events and this task should be kept.
However to propose other possible issues that should be undertaken we need more engagement of insurance doctors in neighbouring countries. There possibly may exist a need for periodic teaching courses organised in between the conferences in different countries. The local insurance medicine specialists will benefit from such activity. But currently the representatives from CEE are unable to continue this idea on their own. That's why organizing periodic scientific meetings located in of the neighbourhood countries seems reasonable. Poland is not attractive any more as a host of CEECLAM conference, since we have already run 2 conferences and for real cooperation we need also other countries to be involved.

During the discussion it has been emphasized that CEECLAM should not cease the idea of promoting of insurance medicine in CEE countries and constructing national professional organisations.

For the new president Dr Zuzanna Guzel was proposed - co-organiser and host of the 3rd CEECLAM conference.
There were no other candidates for this position proposed from the audience.
No objections were made and the new President was accepted by acclamation.

The position of the secretary has moved to Dr Miglena Andronova from Bulgaria.
Accepted by acclamation.
There were no suggestions to change the treasurer as there are no funds raised for the activities of the organisation.

Mr Chairman stressed that the new president-elect should also be nominated by the current assembly. There were no candidates for this post.
During discussion it has been agreed that the Board will not propose anybody until there is an agreement from a country representatives to nominate a person who could take over and proceed with further organisational steps and activities, including organisation of the next CEECLAM conference. The idea of CEECLAM 2011 should be then suspended until the volunteer is found able to carry this duty.
In the meantime the idea of establishing national organisations that will support the local insurance physicians and underwriters should be promoted.

In the closing speech the new CEECLAM president Zuzanna Guzel declared during her presidency to improve the quality of information and co-operation within CEECLAM and support the initiative of creating local professional organisations that would strengthen the internal contacts between medical and insurance societies, provide local education, and set national standards.
Creation and supervising of the national systems of continuous professional education in insurance medicine, medical risk assessment and claims management should become the goal of national societies. There is the strong need to create such expert bodies in CEE countries where insurance market is growing rapidly.
"It is understandable that we will not make great progress with CEECLAM as long as we do not have solid support in local professional organisations" - she said.
She asked participants to stay active and creative members and especially to follow the ideas of raising education standards in insurance medicine based on exchange of knowledge and expertise among CEE countries.

Finally Mr Chairman - Dr Krzysztof Grzylinski encouraged delegates to involve in various activities within the society. He offered his help to the new president.
He announced closure of the assembly.
